Almost 5 stars, but not quite
August 23, 2010

I have used this bag as a purse for about a year. I LOVE all of the pockets and the room inside. My only problem with it is, when I try to carry it cross body in front of me, as I always do, the bag tends to automatically slip around to my backside. I think it is really intended to be more of a backpack than a purse. If they would just move the strap so that it could be carried comfortably in the front cross-body position, it would be the ultimate purse, but it is very awkward always having it go around to the back of my body. I like to keep my purse in FRONT of me so I can keep an eye on it and so that it is easier to get to the contents. I really hope they remake this purse with the strap in a position where we can comfortably wear it cross-body so that the purse will stay in front of us rather than slip around to the back.

great crossover bag but velcro doesnt last

This is my 2nd of this bag. The first I wore about a year, but then the velcro on the outside side pocket, where I keep my cellphone, stopped sticking. I looked all over for another replacement but couldn't find something else that met all my criteria. For the price, I guess I'll replace it on an annual basis or so, not so bad. Otherwise, great for stowing all my stuff and light to carry.
Perfect Bag!!!!

I bought this bag for travel. I was able to hold my two cameras, a sweater or rainjacket, a wallet, extra batteries,an umbrella, a water bottle, and snacks easily. It has cross body for easy access. It's better than a small backpack! I love it!

Extremely poor design, cheap mesh
July 10, 2010
Reviewer: Jana S from Fayetteville, AR
My complaint is with design and quality of the Messenger bag. The mesh for the water bottle holder is of very cheap quality and tore the second time I used it for a water bottle. The same quality mesh serves as a divider in the front compartment, so I try not to put my car keys there. When I took it on a month-long trek, I saw some serious flaws in the design. The "hidden pocket" is misplaced. If one wears the bag to one's front, the pocket is across one's mid-back, accessible only by pickpockets. If one wears the bag to one's back, the pocket bends across the top of the left shoulder. Worn to the front, the strap's heavy metal buckle is exactly on top of my left shoulder. This is very, very uncomfortable. I used the bag to carry my camera, water, etc on my month-long trip and ended up buying something to pad it before the first week was up.The ties in the zipper pulls quickly came untied will not stay re-tied; one has been lost as a result. I wonder why the factory doesn't melt the ends with heat?I am very, very unsatisfied with this bag.

Traveling

This was a very handy tool for my trip to Istanbul. I was able to carry language translation books and everything I could think of (pills, lotions, lira, etc.) in case I was stranded. I did not use the handle compartment for my cell phone, though mine fit. I used it for my reading glasses and it was fine. I was able to fit a 20 oz bottle of water in the side net and my sunglasses in the other side pocket until they broke trying to crowd five people into a tiny taxi. When I wore the strap across my chest, a very handy position, it would rub against my neck. It was hot and humid so this got a bit irritating. I solved it by pulling the handle away from my neck onto my shoulder. In cooler weather a collar would have helped. I sometimes wished it had been bigger to fit some of my purchases. I had it pretty packed with camera, sunglasses, small snack, makeup pouch (for pills, band-aids, antacid, anti-diarrhea, etc.) I would definitely use it again and may just use it here at home also.
