Love the hat. Breathes well in the heat. Looks good with the brim all-the-way-up or just the front-down like a fedora. Really it's like getting two hats in one. I liked it so much I have it in 5 colors now!

The Bailey Bowman uses a cotton blend material that provides excellent protection when the outdoor elements get a little adverse or damp. It is of the same excellent construction as all Bailey of Hollywood hats. The Bowman varies from the norm in being a little over-sized. Receiving one in each available color, the black was even more noticeably larger than the khaki version, both being spec'd as medium size, which for Bailey hats typically includes the 7 and 7 1/8 size range (or 56 & 57 centimeters). These hats however would better fit a 7 1/4 size and possibly even a 7 3/8 size head comfortably. I keep a couple of rolls of hat spacing material available for other hat brands with different sizing standards, so it is common practice for me when a better fit is required. I have never returned any hat due to over-sizing. My suggestion then is to order this hat one size smaller than what you usually wear. And make no mistake, this is an excellent design that uses a color coordinated, tight fitting inner liner with a satiny finish and a dark cloth sweatband that helps disperse perspiration. The brim is 1.75 inches wide so it qualifies as a stingy brim Fedora, and I always flip the brim down for what I call the private-eye look, but others might just refer to it as the Safari style. It has a pinch-front crown and wears a plain strip of leather for a hat band with a Bailey emblem mounted on one side. A useful and good looking hat that may be purchased at a truly reasonable price.

I wore this hat to the Kentucky Derby and received many compliments on a day when hats are everywhere! This hat is very light and beautifully made. The holes also make it very cool in hot, humid weather. A great wearing hat!

I bought this hat and a Bailey Jackson and they are both keepers. This hat is beautifully made and very comfortable. My dermatologist told me to wear hats. The Carnegie is a stylish and practical summer hat.

The Bailey Briar is constructed of LiteFelt Wool in keeping with all the standards that Bailey Hats are famous for. The Medium size fits my 57cm head perfectly as per published sizing specs, and the hat can be packed away and will pop back into shape when ready to use it again. The Briar is available in several colors and I have no complaints about my hat, which I chose in black. It has a black cotton blend sweatband that allows the hat to be worn comfortably all day.The Briar is shaped exactly as the pictures above show with a wide-brim Safari style that would also double as an Outback hat. Certainly suitable for all your little spy projects, but don't expect to remain covert when wearing this hat for very long. This is really the hat that Harrison Ford missed out on during his search for his trademark hat, and has a most delightful appeal with a turned down brim in front. But the Briar is also perfectly suitable for maximum sheltering from the glaring sun while out on some big adventure at Disney World, or if it suits you better, then roll the brim upward and make yourself obvious while sitting at a crowded outdoor restaurant on Main Street.
