It's good. I got this as a book bag to carry all the books I need at school around without injuring or straining my back. I use the wheels. Actually I cut off the back pack straps (hope I don't regret that later) to make another small compartment for a small dictionary and mittens. I could actually use more space. I thought this would be plenty large enough when I compared it to measurements of my old backpack for books. The front compartment of the zip off smaller pack works great for smaller sized paperback books. For folders and large hard cover books the larger compartment works well. I use the straps that are designed for strapping down clothes for strapping in folders so they stand upright. I thought the book type opening meant that the large compartment would open at the top, which it does, but I wish the opening continued down a bit more on both sides rather than just one side. Wheels are sturdy. It rolls through light snow. Water bottle pockets are used daily. Top pocket great for pens and such. The compartmentalized pocket with slots for pens is useful -- pocket for calculator, protection for test clicker (padded, little pocket for post it notes. I have a spot for all the stuff I need. Wish it were thicker, deeper and maybe not so tall. I have to remove some books to get at the stuff that's underneath them on my long days of class and lab. Most days the space is sufficient. Basically -- it works well for me.
