It's made of our abrasion-resistant doubleweave ShiftLayer nylon. A highly breathable 3D spacer-mesh back panel wicks moisture and dries quickly, while the 3D spacer-mesh shoulder straps have hidden tunnels for a hydration tube (or headphone cord); the sternum strap has a built-in safety whistle.

This is GREAT pack. If I were more brave, I would have bought the Kelly Green color! I have the tote version already, so I knew what I was buying into. It is a well thought out/designed pack made with quality construction. There is a pocket/place for all your small gadgets so you stay organized. The padded laptop sleeve is great of course for a laptop, but can also protect fragile things from getting smashed, such as gifts, photos, crackers, etc. A great extra is that there is an emergency whistle that's attached to one of the front straps- perfect for explorers, or if you have to walk alone at night.

This is a great backpack, with good organization pockets in the front pocket. It's not nearly as bulky as the North Face backpacks when it is empty. As for quality, it is made by Patagonia so it is quite rugged. The waist belt and sternum straps keep the bag in place when riding a bike in the city.
