Does everything I need and expect from this type of hat.For winter/cooler weather it keeps the head warm; it provides all-around protection and the 3 inch brim provides excellent shade and cuts glare from the sun; very stylish and have received many unsolicited compliments.Being located directly adjacent to the ocean and exposed to a fair amount of wind, it has not blown off---one must remember to slightly lower one's head against a prevailing wind to prevent a 'sail" effect.It is, indeed, crushable and water resistant. The price is right, Shoebuy's service was excellent!
