I really like this bag even though I have always loved large bags. Recent shoulder surgery and having to use a cane left me in a bad situation. I needed something that would stay put but allow me to carry the things I needed. It took me awhile to get used to this but I found that it really does organize a lot of items. I actually don't have it expanded out because I didn't need to. This bag is high quality and will last a long time. It is made very well and the zippers are rugged. I read some of the reviews that said the strap rubbed on their neck. If this happens to me I just shift the bag slightly to one side and that eases the rubbing. Give it a try.
Small...

Overall the quality of the purse is okay, but it's a bit small. If the manufacturer would increase the width by 1" to 2" and allow the purse to expand another inch when unzipped, it would greatly improve the "usability" of the bag.

Nice leather that feels expensive. Great value on this bag. I really like it.

It is small but everything fits and when I say everything I mean everything! It's easy to carry leaving your arms and hands free. The thing I love the most is that I can put all my stuff in it (unbelieveable!) and get to it with ease. The outside zippers make it easy to get to my glasses, bus pass, and work badge and I can answer my phone before the caller hangs up.

One small detail I never thought about...

I generally prefer messenger bags over purses because their crossover shoulder strap is more comfortable, especially for long periods of walking. And I've been quite satisfied with my Travelon leather bag. I bought the smaller size, but it is big enough for everything I carry, including prescription sun glasses in a hard shell case (which is a little too big for many of my other small messenger bags). The bag lies comfortably against my body, not too fat or bulky. It is not too deep, which allows me to find things in it quickly. It also has a nice assortment of sections and zippered pouches. The bag has an exterior cell phone holder on its strap -- but only for the world's smallest cell phone! My own relatively small phone does not fit in it; fortunately, there is plenty of room inside the bag. Another feature I am not overly in love with is its color... call it a *very* yellow shade of ochre. There is one design feature to be aware of. All my other messenger bags can be worn on either shoulder, or they are made to be worn over the left shoulder, with the bag hanging on my right side. This feels natural to me, a right-handed person. But the Travelon bag is designed in such a way that it can only be worn over the right shoulder, with the bag on the left side of the body. When I wear it over the other shoulder, it hangs at an awkward angle. Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a hard time getting used to this.
